Via Dinarica III - Public call to local government units and cantons for proposals for participation in the “Sustainable tourism for green growth along the Via Dinarica trails in Bosnia and Herzegovina“ project

The Public Call to local government units (LGUs) and Cantons for proposals for participation is one of the activities within the third phase of the Via Dinarica Project (“Sustainable tourism for green growth along the Via Dinarica trails in Bosnia and Herzegovina“), implemented and co-financed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP BiH) with financial support of the Italian Agency for Developmental Cooperation (AICS) / Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI). The Project is implemented in cooperation with local partners – Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federation of BiH Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Republika Srpska Ministry of Trade and Tourism.
A specific goal of this public call is to contribute to the development of green, nature-based infrastructure and enhancement of infrastructure along the Via Dinarica trails and sites (innovative and progressive solutions for green infrastructure, construction or reconstruction of access paths, mountain and cycling trails and tourist attractions, summer camps, access to water and supporting facilities on rivers and lakes for water sports, enhancement of infrastructure around cultural and historical sites, rest areas and viewpoints for tourists, etc.
The public call is open for participation in the project to the following:
- Local government units (LGUs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina along the trails and sites of Via Dinarica, as follows:
Banovići, Banja Luka, Bihać, Bosanski Petrovac, Bosansko Grahovo, Bugojno, Centar Sarajevo, Čapljina, Čelinac, Donji Vakuf, Drvar, Foča, Fojnica, Glamoč, Goražde, Gornji Vakuf/Uskoplje, Grude, Hadžići, Han Pijesak, Ilijaš, Istočni Drvar, Istočni Mostar, Istočni Stari Grad, Jablanica, Jajce, Jezero, Kakanj, Kalinovik, Kladanj, Ključ, Kneževo, Kotor Varoš, Kreševo, Krupa na Uni, Kupres, Livno, Ljubuški, Maglaj, Mrkonjić Grad, Neum, Nevesinje, Novi Travnik, Olovo, Pale (FBiH), Pale (RS), Petrovac-Drinić, Prijedor, Prozor-Rama, Ravno, Ribnik, Rogatica, Rudo, Sanski Most, Sokolac, Srebrenica, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Stolac, Šipovo, Travnik, Trebinje, Trnovo (FBiH), Trnovo (RS), Tuzla, Vareš, Višegrad, Vlasenica, Vogošća, Zavidovići, Zenica and Žepče.
- Cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina that span Via Dinarica trails, as follows:
Una-Sana Canton, Tuzla Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Bosnian Podrinje Canton, Central Bosnia Canton, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, West Herzegovina Canton, Sarajevo Canton.
The Cantons mentioned under 2.1.b are eligible to apply to this public call, but the project activities can be carried out only in the vicinity of Via Dinarica trails and sites in the local government units mentioned under 2.1.a.
Applications of other local government units and cantons shall not be taken into consideration in this public call for participation in the Via Dinarica project.
From the project funds, Via Dinarica III Project shall earmark an amount of minimum BAM 16,000.00 to maximum BAM 20,000.00 per project proposed by an LGU or canton.
The applicant shall provide for no less than 60% of the total project value, while the Via Dinarica III Project shall provide co-financing for up to 40%.
The maximum duration of projects submitted to this public call is 6 months from the date of signing the Financial Agreement.
